Norsk Wax AS is a Norwegian family owned company. Our focus is on the use of wax in modern plant production. We work to understand how wax ingredients influence plant growth and cooperate with partners in different disciplines to achieve knowledge about agricultural use of wax.
Sharing experiences between generations
Markus Rygh Pettersen
Managing Director Markus’s first experience with wax began when he was 10 years old. As an active ski jumper glide wax for skis was important for maximum performance. Many hours were spent in the basement of his parents’ house melting wax for preparation of skis. Growing up with a father in the wax industry also meant that most summer jobs included wax materials and vacations with visits to vine nurseries. For the past decade Markus has been part of the family business and in 2018 assumed the responsibility of managing director at Norsk Wax.
Jarl Markus Pettersen
Founder Jarl started working with wax when developing fertilizer coatings in Norsk Hydro back in 1981. Later when Norsk Hydro established a business unit dedicated to wax Jarl became the manager. During the following decade, this unit developed wax products for many applications, but Jarl became particularly fascinated by the use of wax for plant protection. In year 2000 he established Norsk Wax to continue developing and commercializing wax products for sustainable plant protection.
